Life at MBA...hope i knew what it meant before joining.Other than it giving u a holistic development it does give u an impossible target of managing everything...yes, EVERYTHING!You feel like "I wish there were 30hrs a day or may be 42!".
Friends are kept in contact only through social media and when u do get the time to pick up their call and hear the bashing...the only excuse u can give is...."yaar, exams exams exams!".Nowadays i also have another reason of not being able to call my "long lost friends" and that is- "no balance"!I so miss the Infy days of Bharat mall and Big Bazar where i used to gladly spend hours at a stretch on every weekend and had lots of money to spend on anything I wanted. Thanks to the IT firm who gave me that independent carefree life.
But i do need to thank my IT firm and also the years of me being a total book work during my board exams for A FEW EXTRA INCHES.Life used to revolve so much around books, friends, money, etc that even if i felt the "need" of going to a gym, i always lifted up my bad mood (over thinking of the extra inches) through a bar of chocolate! And so true it is- it definitely is a mood enhancer! The vicious cycle continued till i came to a B SCHOOL and that too in a place like Delhi.Even i didn't know the relevance of this line -"a place like Delhi"...till i came here.Being a Kolkata gal, where i was amongst the gals of "healthy" status..i suddenly felt out of place. The culture shock went to an extent that the first few weeks i was in hunt of "friends" like me...atleast in nature.
A few inches of myself, was never a sort of bad omen for me as it seemed now.I wanted to cut off those extra flesh/pounds ....i still do...its just that i have become matured enough of the fact that yes! i am overweight.
B school does take u out of the dream world of "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai" or "DDLJ".My life used to revolve around dreams of a prince and me the princess and then a happy ending. The immature soul never thought of the highs and lows to reach to that happy ending....without even knowing that the happy ending is waiting or not.But now it does and a major role to this are the few inches!!!
I keep saying that MBA is all about managing...managing time for studies, fun, competitions, assignments, quizzes, and yes....GYM!Never in my life i have wanted to cut a part of me, hated a part of me the way i do now.May be i have been shown the real world or may be it is for my betterment.Whatever it is...the few inches extra has probably taken away something which i liked(n my frnds, parents, close ones too)the most in me- my smile!
I want to smile the way i used to....i want to love myself the way i used..I want to fly the way i used to....I want to dance the way i used to...I want to say again "Mein apni favourite hoon"....But this time may be without those few extra inches!!
Life is beautiful till u dont see the entire of it....It is tough when u face reality.
